Could I have some extra cheese with that, please?

Am taking part in this show as part of The Groop. The show is also part of the Sydney Design 09 program. Should be all kinds of awesome! Some other great artists like Beastman are also entering works in this event!  So come along to opening night, say hi and *fingers crossed* score some free grog.

Shelley Harland’s lovely notes

I recently finished this artwork for posters/street press for the wonderful Shelley Harland, who has recently released her debut album Red Leaf. You might have heard her singles Wonder or Friday lately, or seen the rather awesome clip for Friday featuring a figure-skating steel worker! Plus if you download it now from bandit.fm you’ll get $20 free credit too. That’s a no-brainer!

Shelley is doing a residency at Notes in Newtown (Syd) this August, as well as touring with Elvis Costello in October. Definitely one to check out!

ZOUNDS Album Launch

So lovely band Dappled Cities launched their new album ZOUNDS last night. The event was terrific and the new album sounds like a cracker! As part of the event, the band invited 12 young artists to each interpret one of the tracks from the album. I was lucky enough to be one of those chosen to take part. My track was called KID – I chose to do a mix of sculpture/installation and illustration, including something I have always wanted to do, a giant colouring in wall. It went terrifically, thanks to the help of my wonderful assistant Dan B (pictured next to my colouring in). Here are some snaps I took. JTV were also there filming the event, so you may see my works or my lovely self doing some colouring in.

P.S Thankyou SO MUCH to the lovely girl who gave me her pencil sharpener for my coloured pencils. So generous and much appreciated! I will do a special drawing just for you and post it up.

A Reminder also took a few spiffy shots of our artwork – I love the candy shot : ) Go HEREBoudist also has some great photos HERE. Last but not least, Mesmeri also has some more snaps and a review HERE.
